2012

It's 2012. Half a month in and so far I've been sticking to the new habit I'm trying to establish. I bought a planner and I'm trying my best to keep a journal. Nothing long or in depth. No thoughts. Just a record of what I did that day.

I think maybe I'll try to do the same thing here. Tronotropic Traverse - Living in a Foreign Land. I started this blog when I was, in fact, living in a foreign land. It made sense. And it's a funny thing, despite being right here in the good old US of A, it still makes a lot of sense. Since those days in Macau a lot has changed; they've made me realize that feeling at home isn't all about where you are or even necessarily who you're with.Where I want to feel at home is where I am. And I've got to say, since I'm here I think I should try to enjoy myself. Macau, despite all else, whet my appetite and now there's nothing I enjoy more than a jaunt through a foreign land.

So here's to 2012. Will it be my first full calendar year as a bicycle commuter? Will I climb 5.12? Will I walk the dog every single day? Who knows? I do know that along the way there will be plenty of incredibly (un)interesting and highly (mis)adventurous tales. And hopefully some campfires.
Check out that fly getup! Pedaling around Vegas every day and having fun doing it! "Hey, Mike, are those waterproof pannies?" Yes they are. Because sometimes you can ride longer if you just let a little out. Are those waterproof x-ray goggles?
Good thing, "Keeping the same look" isn't my new year's resolution. The lucky pup who's gonna get all the walks. Jerome. Goofy looking in this picture and pretty much all the rest of the time as well.
